Derived from the larger theme I call Never Not Here, Nut Here Nut Now (2019-2022) is a culmination of artwork and poetry (sculptures, print matter, performances, and writing.) The dimensional, playful nuances are an exercise to look outside of the conventional realm of generative narratives. The quest of this material process and awareness bears no final outcome but branches with multi-directional cognition.
The peanut. There is the shape. The shapes within the shape. The sound when shaken. There are of course comedic notions to the peanut. Contemplating varying degrees of topological assertions — it finds root across the globe. Object signifiers? Nut Here Nut Now is a glossa of sorts. A practice of continual learning and growing.
So, why the "peanut" in reconstituted (shredded and reshaped) refuse plastic forms? Our life is plastic. Relegating to pre-existing systems, the peanut and plastic materials are themselves at the point of discourse ~ reshaping human tactics. My approach is to acknowledge the dilemma of human relationships and how they may transcend beyond our human/e and ethical framework.
