Furin Project

The Furin Project, active from 2022 to 2023, is a Community Public Art initiative that I initiated during my tenure as an Interdisciplinary Artist and Community Engagement Facilitator. It is marked by its intergenerational inclusivity, offering complimentary access to materials for crafting clay 'Furin' wind bells and resources to the public. This endeavor comprises various components, including twelve workshops, two exhibitions, and a symposium featuring an interactive art walk across four sites, as well as the enjoyment of local cuisine.
The 207 bells crafted during these activities serve as integral artifacts within the broader artwork, reflecting community involvement and collaborations with over eleven organizations across various departments and engaging nearly 300+ community stakeholders. Since the exhibitions, the bells have been exchanged among community makers. Stay tuned for upcoming updates, which will include informative videos and additional details about this project.
