B + B, 2011.
B+B is an abstraction derived from the idea of charred remains of organic material, and its life cycle of survival, spark, and combustion. This series abstracts the primal nature of light and darkness. A Char. Char is created after the light goes. B+B (a riff on Boners and Blobs) is a physical manifestation and allegory for the inner and outer human senses (Blobs ≈ the inner wits: imagination, fantasy, estimation, common sense, and memory; and the outer senses [Gérard de Lairesse's Allegory of the Five Senses]: Boners ≈ taste, touch, sight, smell, sound.)
